Social impact
We build communities through transport equity.
In a large study of upward mobility based at Harvard (USA), commuting time has emerged as the single strongest factor in the odds of escaping poverty.
The longer an average commute, the worse the chances of low income families moving up the economic ladder.
Recent ABS and RACV data shows that:
- The average Australian household now spends close to $450 per week on transport expenses
- Household transport spending increased 9.4% in 2023
- The lowest income earners spend in excess of 20% of their income on transport
RideKola builds on the work of NYU Stern's Equitable Commute Project to deliver eBike solutions that help alleviate these financial pressures.
In addition, our fleets enhance mental and physical wellbeing for communities and organisations.
